Welcome to Honeybee Speech

Therapy Services

We’re so glad you’re here!

Who we are

Just like a honeybee helps a flower bloom, an SLP can help your child thrive by coming alongside what is already growing beautifully and help to nurture their further development.

At Honeybee Speech Therapy Services, our mission is to meet children where they are, champion their strengths, and provide them with the support they need to grow in their communication skills.

We keep therapy fun and meaningful, while implementing evidence-based therapy approaches tailored to each child's unique needs.

We believe that collaboration with parents, caregivers, and teachers throughout the therapy process is essential. Therapy is most effective when we work together to help your child find their voice and grow in confidence.

Let us help you unlock your child’s communication potential!

What we can help with

Let us come alongside you as you help your child grow in their communication & confidence in the following areas:

  • A little extra support can make a big difference in your child’s early development. Early intervention speech therapy supports toddlers who may be having difficulty gaining new words, understanding, interacting, or communicating their needs. Through play-based sessions and guidance for parents and teachers, we work together to build your child’s communication skills early—setting them up for success as they grow.

  • Is your child hard to understand or mixing up sounds when they speak? Articulation and phonology therapy helps children learn how to clearly say sounds and words so they can be better understood by family, friends, and teachers. Whether it’s a lisp, sound substitutions, or patterns like leaving off sounds from words, we use fun, engaging activities to help your child speak more clearly and confidently.

  • Childhood Apraxia of Speech is a motor speech disorder that makes it hard for children to plan and coordinate the movements needed for talking. Kids with CAS often know what they want to say, but their words may come out unclear, inconsistent, or hard to understand.

We provide evidence-based, specialized therapy tailored to children with CAS. We are PROMPT-trained, which means we use gentle, hands-on cues to guide your child’s speech movements. We also incorporate DTTC (Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing) and the principles of motor learning to help your child develop more accurate and consistent speech.

  • Does your child need a little extra help understanding the meaning of words and basic concepts? Do they have difficulty using words to express themselves? Whether your child is struggling to follow directions, answer questions, put words together, or share their thoughts - language therapy can be a meaningful support to their communication and academic success as they learn and grow.

  • Some children learn language in “chunks” or scripts, like quoting lines from a favorite show or repeating phrases they’ve heard. This is called gestalt language processing, and it’s a natural, valid way of developing language—especially common in autistic and neurodivergent children.

We specialize in supporting gestalt language processors through a respectful, child-led approach that meets them where they are. Having completed the Meaningful Speech course, we use the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) framework to guide your child from scripts (or echolalia) to original, self-generated language at their own pace.

  • Every child deserves a way to communicate. For children who have limited or no spoken words, an AAC device—like a speech-generating tablet or app—can open up a whole new world of connection.

We help children and families find the right AAC system and learn how to use it with confidence. Through fun, supportive sessions, we teach kids how to express their needs, feelings, and ideas using their device as one of their many communication modalities.

Whether AAC is a short-term support or a long-term communication tool, our goal is to empower your child to be heard and understood.

How do I start?

  • Schedule a Consultation

We begin with a free 15 minute phone consultation call with Amanda to determine what type of evaluation would be the best fit for your child.

  • Complete an Evaluation

During the evaluation further discuss your child’s developmental history and directly assess your child’s communication needs.

  • Make a Treatment Plan

Based on the evaluation results, we will create a personalized treatment plan with specific goals to best support your child’s communication growth.

  • Begin Weekly Sessions

During each session, we use evidenced-based treatment strategies, child-led therapeutic activities, and hands-on teaching to help your child build communication skills. We also take time to check in with caregivers, share updates, and provide tips and activities you can use at home.
